Status: Sheltering in place, we have plenty of food and supplies.

This is about all I have left of my parents.

We’ve installed a new Air Conditioner and there is a terrible amount of work to be accomplished. The highest priority is insulate the ducts against moisture and clean up the living room. I have to run a new duct to the dining room and do a bit of insulating on the ductwork over the living room.

Project Engineering: Layout new ductwork.

My EcoFlow R600 Pro won’t be shipped until the end of December, I should get it AFTER January 2021. Boo!

The COVID numbers have gotten really high from Thanksgiving, in fact they are the highest I’ve ever seen them.

Narrative: I’m skipping the time bullets today. The heater is working pretty well with the majority of the ducts connected back. I used the NodeMCU network to record some data on the performance of the ducts I’ve already installed. (Not Many)

Feelings: As Christians we are compelled to look after the Widows and the poor. Just how we do that in this climate when there is so much energy fighting the democracy I don’t know.

Researched Philippines Typhoons last month, they took a huge toll on the island. I watched several videos, 3-5 feet of water leaving 3-5″ of mud on everything inside their homes and on the streets. This will take a long time to clean up, I checked the Internet and they were pretty bad off. Homes and crops were destroyed and thousands are displaced without enough food or water.

I sent a message to CF asking about our letters we’re missing, they’ve not responded.

The heat pump kept up with the demand all evening, I am certain there is a crossover point where we are providing most of the heat by running the compressor. That point appears to be below 30 degrees, our previous unit would go to Emerg Heat at 35 because it was hard coded in the thermostat. I could not find that setting in our current unit so i don’t know how it knows to switch over to gas. (Or if it will.)

Headed to the Post Office to mail a gift and then to the eye doctor. Apparently i have cataracts in both eyes that are getting bigger. Doc says i might need surgery in two years to remove them. Had some ham for lunch and went to bed for a good long nap. I am sleeping longer with scraping my tongue and now with the wipes to improve my tears I may end the drama with my sleeping.

I got the radiator fans in the mail today. (They will be used to push air out of the attic.) I put a power supply on one of them and it runs with only 3 volts!

I had to reverse the blades so that it pushed air from the grille. The motor will run backwards but the blades are curved, they have only one direction. There are two unused wires in the attic, that will do nicely to run all three fans. (I need to find the ends, it wasn’t obvious when I looked for them.) I need to put power pole connectors on it, the wires in the attic are probably unterminated as well. If I use the 12AWG wires I can control them from the garage. Otherwise I’ll have to use the ATTIC fan relay box. The 110V fan motor is siezed and my plan was to replace the motor with DC motors that I can control the speed. (And power consumption.)

Made a trip to THD and got a HEPA air purifier, a new air filter for the Air Handler and a 6″ T that I need for the guest bathroom. There is a terrible amount of dust that has collected in our attic over the years. We have two 12″ wind turbines and one 14″ powered vent that really pushes air. The air purifier senses the dust and ramps up its fan to filter the air automatically. When I am scrambling on the 2x4s and knocking some dust around it will respond very quickly.

Took the wires and speaker stands to the storage facility, I am glad to have them out of my car! I put a air purifier in the attic to knock down the dust and any mold spores floating around. Replaced the rollers in the back porch rolling glass door, that was more difficult than I remember!

Got up in the attic first thing and connected the two small bedrooms. Turned on the heat and watch the response. I may have to put a NodeMCU in those rooms to gather enough information to finish the install. There are SO MANY variables with attic ductwork, I have a hard time believing they actually cared when this house was built.

I am nursing my foot again today. I hurt it weeks ago and it’s swollen from walking on it all day Sunday. I’m playing taxi this morning to the doctor’s office. I slept a good part of the day today trying to stay off my foot. I found out later that I can wear my work boots and if they are tightly laced it feels really good on my foot. I’ve soaked it twice today in cold water as well.

I’ve been working in the attic again today. Pulled the West metal trunk line apart and removed the 6″ metal duct to the sewing room. I installed a double insulated flexible duct to the sewing room before the wife called “Dinner”. The Wye from 8″ to 6″ had oil on it so I couldn’t proceed anyway. (The duct tape won’t stick to the metal covered in oil.) I don’t know if the oil was left over or it was a return that someone spilled oil onto it. (or laid it down on oil in their vehicle.)

I am nursing my foot again today. I hurt it weeks ago and it’s swollen from walking on it all day Sunday. I didn’t properly address it yesterday and it’s not happy with me. I found a cane in the closet that I’ll try and take the weight off of it for a couple days. It has a very sharp pain when I am stressing the problem. (Maybe a fracture.)

Back at the dentist listening to my phone playing tunes.
