23 Jan 2021, Biden’s Impeachment?

Danger of Cancel Culture: If a congressperson votes on a bill that the position of their constituents is unpopular with a large corporation, they can pull the funding for that politician. (Because it risks their business position with the larger population and the cancel culture that would boycott their product on social media.) The politician then changes his view to save the carnage to his career from the loss of funding. The constituents then are left without proper representation by the person they voted for. That doesn’t sound good to me?

This is about all I have left of my parents.

Are Executive Orders the will of the people?

In a potential sign of the hurdles to come, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) sent a warning shot during one of his first floor speeches back in the minority. Republicans, he warned, were willing to work with Biden but also wouldn’t be shy about blocking bills they don’t support. Because of the 60-vote legislative filibuster, Democrats will need at least 10 GOP senators to pass most things.

A voice speaking a bit of truth.

Heather Higgins, chairwoman of the Independent Women’s Forum, suggested that the left’s current narrative of “unity” is coming across to the other side as being asked to “accept guilt” and “shut up.”

“There’s a lot of ‘we need to unify,’” Higgins told Jan Jekielek, host of The Epoch Times’ American Thought Leaders program on Jan. 20. “That’s the language now.”

But she said the unity they’re talking about is “‘you need to accept guilt for anything that we say that you need to accept guilt for,’ even if you’re not guilty; ‘you need to shut up, and you just need to go along with and comply with our point of view,’” Higgins pointed out. “Which is extremely unhealthy.” Heather Higgins: Silencing People and Forcing Them to ‘Accept Guilt’ Not the Way to Unity (theepochtimes.com)

Project Engineering: Layout new ductwork. With a variable speed compressor the temperature drop in the ducts has a much greater affect on the performance. The reason is that the forced air temp can be just a few degrees above the room temperatures. (Meaning that a few degree change becomes a large percentage of the heat/cool capacity into the room.) I’ve doubled the insulation on the 6″ ducts since they had the greatest surface area per volume of air. I’ve also doubled the long trunk line to the Master Bedroom since it’s length and the two 6″ ducts were affecting the air significantly. I encased the 8″ duct to the kitchen inside a 12″ duct. (Pretty easy actually.) and ran it to the vent over the microwave. I also encased 25 Feet of 8″ duct inside a 12″ duct for my cave yesterday. Reminds me of a really old Star Trek…

This is looking West inside my attic, I built a floor above the insulation.

Heat pump and ducts are working pretty well, I have the guest bathroom to fix. I measured the temperatures of the rooms and how they responded to the heat sent into them.

My EcoFlow R600 Pro has finally arrived.

Found out yesterday that my unit has a minor issue with the Inverter.

The inverter hiccups about once per second with about a 20% increase for about 33ms, EcoFlow has not responded to my post.

The COVID numbers are pretty high.

22 Jan 2021, Biden’s warpath

Mr. President: I’ve helped the BP in the past and having a border with Mexico that a person can just walk between our countries brings the question why we have to go through 2 hr. immigration at our airports? A substantial number of people arriving across the border are unskilled and insolvent that will end up on Government assistance. They also have the potential to bring diseases not found in our country into the middle of our cities. We are 28Trillion dollars in debt (And climbing), one third of the people already here are Food insecure and becoming insolvent by the day. The COVID virus also doesn’t need any help.

I checked the news and got me a cup of coffee to sip on while I work on this blog. I added two sensors to my Home Assistant today so that I could get more information on the air distribution. I now have sensors in every room of the house and one in the bedroom register. I got my EcoFlow R600Pro today, I plugged it in to charge the batteries for a little while before testing it. I attached the unit to my wireless and I built an EcoFlow online account for it. When I tested the Inverter the light bulb flickered a bit more than I expected. I didn’t get much else done, the news is an elephant of information these days.

This is about all I have left of my parents.

A lesson in Civil Discourse by Rep. Brian Mast

[Congressman Brian Mast (house.gov)] “The response [to Mr. Jake Tapper CNN] is this: OK, the president told you [Trump supporters] to come to the people’s house, did he tell you to do it violently? Or did he tell you to go there and cheer people on, or what, but it’s worth getting to the bottom of before you rush to judgment and that’s the foundation of democracy,” Mast said.

“I’m going to say to Mr. Tapper the same thing that half of America is saying right now, hold me to a high standard — don’t hold me to a double standard. And me asking if any of these lawmakers that are about to vote have gone through any questioning, any hearings, have asked any questions of anybody, that’s an appropriate question and it speaks to the foundation of our democracy, it doesn’t diminish it,” he added.

As for civil discourse: “And I would give this statement to him, as well — it is not as important in America, especially today with all the division that we have, that I say, ‘This is what I think about you.’ We’ve got to get to the point that we’re saying, ‘This is why I think something,’ now I can say, ‘This is why I think you’re wrong,’ and we can have a real debate and hopefully you end up learning something about each other instead of just coming away with two people that are pissed off.”

“Sedition” somewhat closes off that debate — particularly when you use it against a man who lost two legs to an IED in Afghanistan for nothing more than how he voted, the questions he asked about the election and the lawsuits he signed onto. In a world of Jake Tappers, be a Brian Mast. It’s OK to ask questions, it’s OK to debate. The most horrible take doesn’t win the day.

Unity and healing, the buzzwords of the day, don’t require scorched-earth demands for accountability to be met. They require debate. Vet Congressman Who Lost Legs Responds with Class to CNN Anchor’s Questioning of Patriotism (westernjournal.com)

In some ways I feel a little nervous about our new administration, they are changing so many things the first day. Kroger let us know the order is ready, pickup went flawlessly and we’re home. We’ve used Instacart, but they kept the Kroger discount and we paid the penalty. The penalty has been more than $10 for several months. Made a trip to get some shampoo for the wife, they set it outside the door for us. Took a good nap and doing some cleaning today.

The House Progressive Caucus has proposed a 2021 congressional agenda that includes relief checks of $2,000 a month for everyone, regardless of immigration or any other status.

The agenda includes “banning semi-automatic weapons,” canceling medical debt, canceling up to $50,000 in student debt and providing “universal access to social safety net programs.”

Under a section entitled “Dismantle Racism, White Supremacy and Inequality in All Institutions,” progressives also are calling for “a commission on truth, racial healing, and transformation, and a commission to study and develop reparations.”

Heat pump and ducts are working pretty well, I have the guest bathroom to fix.

Found out yesterday they didn’t run the Ground through the device. DUMB!
The output is to power pins only, ground pin is just a hole? There’s no way this passed UL(r) certification for the power connections. I’ve asked for the UL number, no one knows.

The COVID numbers have gotten really high from Thanksgiving, in fact they are the highest I’ve ever seen them.

Narrative: I’m skipping the time bullets today. The heater is working pretty well with the majority of the ducts connected back. I used the NodeMCU network to record some data on the performance of the ducts I’ve already installed. (Not Many)

I wrote a seething letter to CF this morning just after midnight about their handling of our correspondence with our sponsored children. After reading it 6 hours later the only thing I regret is informing my associate that the time spent checking, writing and waiting is ruining any enjoyment from our giving. It’s finally 08:00 and I am up sipp’n coffee. I have created a drawing of the space around us that influences us and to some extent we influence them.

As chaos increases we regress to smaller circles to maintain our sanity. LOL Watching the news on TV is a waste of time because it changes so often. Reading the news on the Internet is just discouraging what the Democrats are planning to do with our country. We’re also waiting on BLM to start ramping up their campaign to persuade our president onto their agenda.

When we replaced the carpet in the 90’s we failed to notice that the new carpet was taller and closed the opening under the bathroom doors. I found out today that running the fan in the guest bathroom sucked air from the bedroom vent. The unfiltered air over 30 years deposited significant material in the vent, like YUK!

Feelings: As Christians we are compelled to look after the Widows and the poor. Just how we do that in this climate when there is so much energy fighting the democracy I don’t know.

Researched Philippines Typhoons last month, they took a huge toll on the island. I watched several videos, 3-5 feet of water leaving 3-5″ of mud on everything inside their homes and on the streets. This will take a long time to clean up, I checked the Internet and they were pretty bad off. Homes and crops were destroyed and thousands are displaced without enough food or water. According to CNNCF they anticipate being back to normal by Jan 2021, They are not there yet.

I called CF this morning and told them it’s unacceptable that we’ve not gotten receipts for our gifts in 4 months. I was asked to please be patient… Then I get an E-Mail that says to wish them a happy Valentines Day?

I’m up sipp’n coffee, i slept in until 08:30. I got an shipping update for my R600Pro, it suggests I’ll get it next week but it is just a label. Called mom, she wants a cover for her lift chair, I asked her for a picture. She’s looking online for what she wants. Spent a couple hours working on my blog today. We also took a pretty good nap! It is going to be very cold next few days so working on the ducts will have to wait until next week. I did repair a fan that keeps fresh air flowing into the master bath with a few drops of oil on the bearings.

15 Jan 2021, a shot in the arm

Status: Sheltering in place, we have plenty of food and supplies.

This is about all I have left of my parents.

I saw an article where Kamala Harris talked about Systemic Racism where the two races have a different starting point but can have equal treatment. I am a white person living in Atlanta where most of the people I intersect with are either Black or Hispanic. I don’t believe for a second that someone in Atlanta applying for a job will be turned down because they are BIPOC. We don’t have to be like California and bring back truly racist programs like Desegregation and Affirmative Action.

The proponents of the bill, the most radical progressives in California (which is really saying something), say it’s about removing the ban on affirmative action, first passed in 1996. The University of California Board of Regents, headed by Janet Napolitano, supports this bill. Many have absurdly cited the CCP coronavirus pandemic and the murder of George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis Police Department to say the (ban) of affirmative action should end. Opponents call it nothing more than a racial spoils system designed to grant preferential treatment to some communities of color over others. California Legislature Votes to Allow Discrimination by Race (pjmedia.com)

Got up really early this morning to get our 1st COVID shot. I-285 had a major accident so we took the long route downtown. We still made it there by 08:00, but that was a bit early. Excellent organization and execution, we headed home around 09:30. Took a good hearty nap and headed up into the attic. The last of the metal ductwork is gone, but there was a wooden bridge over the duct that was still there. I pulled one side of it off tonight and cleaned up some of the old insulation. The insulation bag cannot be at the bottom of the garbage can, it’s not heavy enough to drop out when the machine dumps it. I have to cut the insulation back under the kitchen duct so that the duct can rest on the joists. (Otherwise it is too tall for the subfloor I crawl on, it’s a 21″ outer duct wall with an 18″ space above the joist.)

Worked on a new instance of Home Assistant, the first Raspberry Pi would not perform an update. I changed out the SD card and it failed again so I tossed the Pi. Gwinnett COVID is hovering around 1% which is lower than Walton for a change.
