Large companies that serve huge swaths of the population become “public accommodations,” and when such companies discriminate against customers based on matters of identity (like race), then discrimination begins to define your society and huge numbers of people become marginalized. The same is true for information and communication. When a monopoly or group of monopolies exercise a decisive influence on the people’s access to information and speech, then those corporations become de facto governments. Are Executive Orders the will of the people?
In a potential sign of the hurdles to come, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) sent a warning shot during one of his first floor speeches back in the minority. Republicans, he warned, were willing to work with Biden but also wouldn’t be shy about blocking bills they don’t support. Because of the 60-vote legislative filibuster, Democrats will need at least 10 GOP senators to pass most things.
This would work well as a autonomous controller, my only dilemma is that logging is necessary feature of these things to know they are working properly.
The COVID numbers getting reasonable.
Narrative: I’m skipping the time bullets today. I’m up very early, sipp’n coffee and working on the church service this morning. Service went very well with just a couple of hiccups. Tried to lay down with an interruption so I am updating this for a minute or two. We’ve had a long day, an emotional one at that.
Feelings: As Christians we are compelled to look after the Widows and the poor. Just how we do that in this climate when there is so much energy fighting the democracy I don’t know.
I am very angry with CF, we’ve had this long running drama about letters and I am slap wore out trying to get them to do their part. I am going the rounds with CF and I am pretty angry at them. Two of the three sponsored children’s letters have started arriving within three weeks. (Totally acceptable) One we haven’t heard from in four months and all of them write English!
Tomorrow: Monday.
Retirement: We’ve spent 10K on an air conditioner, need to make that up.
Purchases: Conservation mode, we’re more than 3 paychecks in the hole.

Religion: We were called to read the book Crossing the Line, i am on chapter 5.

Travel: Florida travel looks well out of reach!
Taxes: I need to finish them.
Pi News: Love em, but no time to play with them.
